Vision

Our vision is to provide a holistic education of a high standard in both German and English for all children of our society, in a Christian context, regardless of background, culture and religion, which will prepare them for a globalised world. By imparting fundamental values we aim to contribute to the development of each child’s unique personality and their social competence. This happens in a warm and positive learning environment, in which the students can develop individually and successfully.

1971 Until Now

Established in 1971, Deutsche Schule Durban is a German-medium primary school that welcomes all-comers. We offer small classes for individualised attention, outstanding teachers with consistently good results, and a safe environment in a great area. We are inclusive, flexible, and well-rounded, and we provide good value for money. Our German-style education will give your child a solid foundation for high school and beyond.

Parents Committee

The Parent Committee is elected at the beginning of each year by the parents of each class. These dedicated members represent their class in multiple ways, serving as a vital link between the school and parents. They play an active role in organising and assisting with fundraising events, such as the annual Golf Day and Christmas Market, and are responsible for sharing weekly updates and important communications via the class WhatsApp groups. The school deeply values the support, ideas, and involvement of the Parent Committee, which contributes significantly to the success of various initiatives and events throughout the year.
