Multiculturalism.
The Deutsche Schule Durban is a small, independent school that offers a holistic education for children from 18 months to Grade 7. Established in 1971, the DSD is affiliated to the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA). Pupils do not need to be able to speak German as long as they join in Kindergarten, latest by the time they are 4 years old. At present there are approximately 150 learners in our school, hailing from diverse cultural backgrounds. We host a variety of events inspired by the German culture, such as Einschulungsfeier, Weihnachtsmarkt and Laternenfest.
