Each year, on the first Friday in November, Deutsche Schule Durban proudly hosts its much-loved Weihnachtsmarkt—our major fundraiser and a festive highlight on the school calendar.
The school transforms into a bustling Christmas market filled with a variety of stalls offering unique gifts, decorations, and holiday treats. Visitors can browse both school-run and outside vendor stalls, enjoying the joyful atmosphere of the season. The school provides delicious refreshments, and all parents are kindly asked to support the event by volunteering their time—whether helping with setup, cooking, serving, or cleaning up. This shared effort ensures the market remains a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for the thousands of visitors who attend each year. Volunteer shifts are generally two hours long and details are shared closer to the event.
