At Deutsche Schule Durban, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals. Our diverse extra-mural programme plays a vital role in this holistic approach, offering students exciting opportunities to explore new interests, develop talents, and enhance their learning experience outside of the standard academic curriculum.

A World of Activities to Explore
Our extra-mural offerings cater to a wide array of interests, ensuring there's something to spark every child's curiosity. From energetic sports like Busyballers and co-ordination building with Kiddinastics in the early years, to musical pursuits such as Piano, Violin, and various wind instruments, and into the realms of technology with Kids Coding and Robotix. Creative expression flourishes through Art, Pottery, Ballet, Dance and Musical Theatre. These engaging activities are conveniently offered after school hours on our campus, led by passionate independent instructors.
Developing Skills, Building Confidence
Participation in extra-mural activities offers significant benefits beyond pure enjoyment. These pursuits help students develop valuable physical, creative, and technical skills, foster discipline, encourage teamwork, and build self-confidence. Whether mastering a musical piece, designing a robot, or perfecting a dance move, our learners gain resilience and a sense of accomplishment. While these activities are optional and carry costs separate from school fees, their contribution to a child's holistic development is invaluable.
The interests ignited and skills honed through our extra-mural programme can often blossom into lifelong passions or even guide future pursuits. More immediately, they provide a healthy balance to academic studies, contributing to overall well-being and a positive school experience, further embedding our commitment to nurturing every facet of our students' growth.
Our vision is to provide a holistic education of a high standard in both German and English for all children of our society, in a Christian context, regardless of background, culture and religion, which will prepare them for a globalised world.
